Engineering Manager – Electric Heater Design

Qualification:

UG: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

PG: M.E./M.Tech (Preferred but not mandatory)

Job Description:

• Lead and manage all design engineering activities related to industrial electric heaters, including heater bundles and pressure vessel (heater shell) design.
• Perform thermal design calculations for electric process heaters, heating systems, and heater bundles using tools like HTRI.
• Carry out mechanical design of pressure parts such as shells, tubesheets, flanges, and nozzles as per ASME / TEMA / API standards.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII and other relevant international codes and standards.
• Design electric heating elements and configure heater bundles considering watt density, heat transfer, and process parameters.
• Prepare and review design calculations, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, datasheets, and engineering documentation.
• Handle pressure vessel design including thickness calculations, stress analysis, and code compliance.
• Coordinate ASME U-stamp activities including interaction with Authorized Inspectors and documentation.
• Use engineering tools such as PV Elite for mechanical design and coordinate with agencies for FEA analysis.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, production, and QA/QC teams for smooth project execution.
• Participate in client discussions, provide technical clarifications, and support proposal and bid preparation.
• Ensure proper documentation for inspection, testing, and certification requirements.

Technical Skills:

• Thermal calculations for process heaters

• AutoCAD or equivalent design tools

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in electric heater manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of heater element design, watt density selection, and bundle configuration
• Exposure to oil & gas, petrochemical, or process industries
